Regular appointments are available with our experienced practice nurses:

They help us provide care for our patients with chronic diseases, and you can also book appointments directly with them for:

  • Asthma checks & advice
  • Baby & childhood immunisations (also done during baby clinics)
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Blood tests & ECGs
  • Contraception advice, depo injections & routine pill checks
  • Dressings & wound care
  • Diabetic blood & advice
  • Dietary advice & weight control
  • Ear care
  • New patient checks
  • Sexual health advice & screening
  • Smoking Cessation Advice
  • Smear tests
  • Travel advice & vaccinations

We also have one Phlebotomist, Veronica Weatherhead, who will take blood tests.

The team has been joined by Laura Byton, Health care assistant.

Community Nurses

 

The community nursing team provides skilled nursing care and  assessment for patients confined to their own homes, and to those who require nursing care whilst in a  residential home. They accept referral from all sources, for any patient registered at this practice.

Health Visitors

 

The Child and Family team offer support and advice to families with children under 16yrs of age. Gillian Pearson (health visitor) and Deborah Ray (community nursery nurse) can be contacted on 01223 697640.

A Well baby clinic is held at the surgery on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month between 2.00pm and 3.00pm; excluding bank holidays. No appointment is necessary. You will be notified when your child's vaccinations are due; please then phone the surgery to make an appointment. Details of the immunisation programme can be found at www.immunisation.nhs.uk or by going to the childhood immunisation page.

Midwife

If you think you are pregnant please make a booking appointment with a doctor.
 

Most women have community based care provided jointly by the practice and our attached community midwife Barbara Taylor.

Barbara holds a clinic at the surgery on Tuesday afternoons and can be contacted on 07768 417044. Please make your appointments through reception.
