Did Not Attend

In April we lost a total of 120 appointments through patients not arriving. That averages out to more than 7 days without a Doctor.
If you do not need your appointment please call us or text. We can always give the appointment to another patient.

Surgery Opening hours & Consultation Times

We are open Monday to Friday 8:10am to 6pm and offer appointments between 8.30am and 5.20pm.

The surgery is open for pre-book appointments with the doctor on Saturdays between 8:30-11:45 for those of our patients who struggle to attend clinics during the week. Please remember though that this clinic is not for emergencies so please do continue to use Urgent Care Cambridgeshire (UCC) 0330 1239131 for urgent matters that can not keep till Monday.

How to see a Doctor or Nurse

The practice operates a full appointment system.

Appointments may be made by calling in person at reception, by telephone or via the internet (See 'How to Book an Appointment Online' below).

We try to offer appointments with the doctor of your choice on the day of your choice. The majority of our appointments are available to be booked either on the day or one or two days in advance. Please telephone in the morning if you wish to be seen that day. Our receptionists may ask you the nature of your problem in order to offer you the most appropriate appointment. They do understand if you do not wish to disclose the reason for your visit.

Please arrive in time for your appointment and cancel it in good time if you cannot keep it or no longer need it. We make every effort to run on time but sometimes there is an emergency that the doctor or nurse has to deal with. We do ask for your patience and understanding in these circumstances. We expect that all members of staff are treated with the same courtesy with which you would like to be treated yourself.

How to Book an Appointment Online

Woodlands Surgery has now changed its computer system. As of 1st May 2012 online services have been provided through SystmOnline.

If you have a pre-existing EMIS Access account you will still be able to log into SystmOnline. To do this you will need to add "_1905"onto your EMIS Access ID to complete your new Username, e.g. if your ACCESS ID is 12345, and your PRACTICE ID is 1905, your new Username becomes 12345_1905. (Please note, there is an underscore "_" between the two IDs). Your password will remain the same.

Telephone Advice

The clinical team may advise on simple illnesses over the telephone. If you need to speak to someone please call as early as possible to allow time for a doctor or nurse to return your call in case it is necessary to book you an afternoon appointment.

Consultations

All patients are welcome to consult a doctor or nurse according to the procedures set out in our leaflet. We are also obliged by our contract with Cambridgeshire PCT to provide consultations for all new patients, patients between 16 and 74 who have not seen us in the last 3 years and those over 75 years old who have not seen us in the last 12 months if requested.

Appointment reminders via text message

If you give us your mobile telephone number we will use this to send you a text message appointment reminder 24 hours in advance. Should you not wish to receive a reminder in this way please inform reception.
